Politically Speaking, an advanced monthly Toastmasters club, meets on Friday, August 1, 2008 at Café des Arts, 863 Beatty Street, Vancouver (half a block west of Robson across from BC Place Stadium).

Time: 6:30 pm
social & order from al-la-carte light supper menu, 7:00-9:00 pm meeting.

Theme: "American Presidential Campaign".

Politically Speaking is an Advanced Toastmasters Club for Toastmasters who have achieved Competent Communicator, near or above, where speeches include politics of all stripes (e.g. humour, historical, office, relatives, and government).

Advanced Aurators meets on the 1st Thursday of each month at Mt. Pleasant Neighbourhood House, 800 East Broadway (1 blk east of Fraser), Vancouver on top floor. Meetings 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm.

Monday, August 18th, 2008  -  Club Officer Training - Hosted by Division E
Who?
All District 21 Club Officers for 2008-2009 are encouraged to attend.

What?
Club Officer Training event with a fantastic lineup of trainers including three division governors, past and present area governors, and presidents from distinguished clubs.

The evening is composed primarily of two sessions:

[Session 1] Club Officer breakout sessions (President, VPE, VPM, VPPR, Secretary, Treasurer, SAA)
Each attendee will choose one officer session.

[Session 2] Topical breakout sessions.
(a) Corporate Club Challenges and Strategies
(b) Keys to a Healthy Club
(c) Membership Building
(d) Adding Fun and Variety into Club Meetings
Each attendee will choose one topical session: a, b, c, OR d.

When?
Monday, August 18th @ 7:00pm.
- Doors open @ 6:15pm for registration.
- Please arrive no later than 6:45pm.
- Training will start @ 7:00pm and conclude by 9:15pm.

Parking: No cost in employee lot. Park anywhere even if it says "reserved". To reach underground parking lot:
- Turn north onto St. Edwards Drive from Cambie Road
- Turn right onto Shellbridge Gate
- Turn right onto Shellbridge Way
- Turn right immediately into the alley behind McKesson
- Entrance to underground parking is just past the large garbage bins
- Enter training via the front door for McKesson

Do you still need officer training to get your DCP point? Here's your chance. Division G is offering a last chance training session followed by a BBQ and door prizes.

Sunday, August 24th, 2008  -  Training for Small Clubs
District 21 will be holding a special training session for members of small clubs. The objective of the training to provide resources for holding quality meetings even with only a few members, and for rebuilding the membership of the club.

Date: Sunday, August 24.
Time: 9:30am - 1:30pm.
Registration at 9:00am.
Douglas College, New Westminster

Price: $5

Douglas College is one block from the New Westminster SkyTrain Station. There is underground pay parking, enter from 8th street at back of college. From the underground parking there is elevator access. There is also some parking on the street.
